Some years ago, I came across a book titled Embracing Your Inner Critic by Hal & Sidra Stone.
Being wary of self help books and methods-that-will-change-your-life-forever I, slightly reluctantly,
started reading it on a sober room in Tel Aviv. I had forgotten my mobile phone at home,
darkness set in early in November, so it was just this book, an empty notebook, my fountain pen and me.
I was immediately struck by the enormous sense of it,
the logic in its beautiful simplicity.
I dare say that I experienced an epiphany.
In the months to follow I found a therapist, familiar with
Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves to find out
if I could rely on my intuition about this discovery.
It changed-my-life-forever, ha!
As it turned out, many psychologists & coaches worldwide are
successfully using this method in their practices…for a very good reason.
Voice Dialogue is the specific method developed to explore the world of the Selves –
also known as sub-personalities. This method requires two people: a facilitator
and the subject being facilitated. The job of the facilitator is to help the subject
become aware of, and to experience, the various Selves that run our lives and to learn
how to use them in a conscious way through the development of an Aware Ego Process.
A more extended (but still short) explanation of Voice Dialogue you can read here.
In the 3 years (so far) of training to become a facilitator I have developed a way to
support and guide creative souls on their long and winding road in the field of music.
Since I have been working in that area since over 25 years, I can relate to the
obstacles you stumble on while you try to find your way beyond just surviving
by doing what you love most en finding the core of your story.
This means: feeling free to express your inner narrative without being
inhibited by voices in your head telling you that you are no good.
That is the simple version of my story here.
So, soon I will be available to facilitate sessions of approximately 1 to 1,5 hour
in which we will explore those voices and start a dialogue in which we learn to
embrace the your inner critic and all the other interesting talkers inside you.
For now, if there are any questions…do not hesitate to contact me.
